Created out of need for motivation and involvement in neighborhood affairs, Grassroots-Baton Rouge has been actively playing a role in this City's development for 10 years. We formed a small group in the Fall of 1998 and incorporated in January 2005. There are no boundaries with Grassroots-BR. We take every citizen seriously and endeavor to resolve an issue or make sure their concerns are channeled to the correct resource. As in other volunteer-orientated organizations, participation is sporadic and involvement lapses, although there are always on-going Projects all around Baton Rouge, and we invite you to become active with us.

Faith-based and non-profit, the Grassroots Society for Residential Involvement functions as a Civic Organization that reaches out to the Community on a "grassroots" level. We believe in results and the best way to achieve results is to pursue them. There are no limits to Grassroots-BR, except those that exclude us by natural force or Divine Intervention. In this present 21st Century day, we have resources available to resolve most neighborhood-related challenges. We are our brother's keeper. We believe that helping others, is helping you. It is a common thing for us to do door-to-door visitation for information and personal involvement.
Our focus has always been on the environment and its effect on people. The outward, physical condition of a neighborhood is prime factor in promoting a safe and clean environment. Chronic littering, slum-lords, eye-sores and lot negligence have been our main avenues of keeping the environment conducive to the needs of other. Bringing a harmonious relationship between the people and City government can only insure positive, long-lasting results for those involved.
